![]() Jinora - I don't mind her personality at all, but she took the attention away from her siblings. Mako - He had no real purpose beyond being a love interest, faded into the background even more than Bolin and Asami. Maybe they wouldn't be stuck in the monarchial past if she did. Also, she never shared her city's technology with the outside world. Suyin - I didn't mind her more modern views, but when given the option to make the Earth Kingdom a democracy, she refused. She tried to be peaceful at first and then used force to achieve what she wanted. Kuvira - I wasn't a fan of the way she achieved her goals, but she took charge when the nation was in disarray. He's far from a pushover, being able to keep up with Zaheer and all. Tenzin - He definitely felt like Aang's son, a great father, and a good character overall. I love how she was very hotheaded at first and ended the series as being more reflective and compassionate. Korra - It took her awhile to grow, but when she did, it was absolutely amazing. As Yangchen said, "The Avatar's duty is to the world." Kyoshi - A lovely design and island, but she only took charge when Chin threatened her homeland. Girl from the psychic episode - Just annoying and was only there to create conflict, out of all the season 1 characters, I'm glad she didn't come back. Ozai - One dimensional, just there to be a final boss, his children were much more interesting and had personality. He was a good guide for Zuko and had an odd, yet interesting past. Iroh - His poeticity and tea making ways just resonated with me. She can handle herself and saved Zuko and Sokka at Boiling Rock. Mai - A nonbender who wasn't shown enough surely. She was a bit naggy, but she had good intentions at heart. Katara - She was like the mother of the group and really proved her skill, it's easy to see how much she grew over the duration of the show. Raava: bad retcon on how the Avatars worked. I wish that the Spirit Wilds was a two part episode. And for Russia it was a disaster, and time will only tell with China. He had come up with his ideas in an academic safe environment that wasn't at risk of falling apart. Because he had never intended them to cause violence in unstable war torn countries that were Agrarian. But when he heard his philosophical ideas were popular in unstable countries like China and Russia, he became dismayed and said they would never work out. It sort of reminded me about Karl Marx, who was not an evil man. And balance himself out with ethics, compassion and dealing with his emotional losses instead of exploiting emotional connections for his mission. Not able to change the world but forced to witness everything that happened.Īnd a character like Zaheer who valued detachment and intellectual freedom and the cold pursuit of reason be forced to grow a conscience. It was interesting to see a villain have intellectually deal with the consequences of his actions from jail. He really thought social darwinism would work out. It never occurred to him another evil person would come to power. That if he just got rid of the bad guys that everything would be alright. Ironically a pretty Naive character for one so brilliant. Would he kill everyone of them in an endless cycle? That really bothered me about Zaheer, what was his plan next? Kill all the other leaders of the nations and then what? If what hapenned in the EK(Kuvira unifying it) didn't happen then there would propably be a lot of people making groups and fighting for power till one can dominat the whole nation or a part of it. Hell if Opal became the next dictator, Bolin would probably follow. Even after he is still a weak minded fool who can't stand up to Opal. ![]() But no, his point of joining Kuvira's army was a total waste. He was suppose to be much different and mature. His past history and goals has potential but never well explained.Ģ. He could have had a Zuko stlye transformation but no "I have feelings inside my head.so I'm good"ģ. He had so much potential as either a good comic relief character or a complete greed Capitalistic mogol(which would had made an intresting story seeing how Unalaq said they were corrupt). Basically S2 Varrick as a villain was just to drive the Asami-Mako romance. He's funny yes.but wasted an entire season as a villain. Varrick-don't like the Ex-Deus Machina turn good. Toph(I love the young one but not this one)-Seriously? While Kuvira destroys her home, she does nothing?Ĥ. Korra-I didn't like her at first, but she has come around as a good rounded charchter.ĥ. I like the historical parrelels, me being a history buff. Kuvira-Despite her being morally not so grey, her justifications are slightly understandable(except the genocide). Lin Beifong-Complicated person, awesome fighter, highly developed character.Ģ. Who are your favorite and least favorite charchters? (Give top 5 list of each)ġ.
